I don’t NEED to upgrade my HiFi, it’s as good as it needs to be, but there’s always this “maybe it can be better” gremlin on my shoulder… Just for fun I moved my speakers 1 1/4 inch wider each way at the end of the room. Eureka! Sounds better, didn’t cost a cent! Next thing I’ll try is to use a different spray cleaner for the black boxes, stay tuned…

If one day you need to downgrade, you have just to move your speakers narrower.

That’s familiar. Last December I moved my speakers a little bit and changed the toe-in to help get rid of some excessive bright highs and some base boom. Small changes, but a very significant effect. For free

Jokes apart, speaker positioning is essential and sometimes tweaks are needed.
