Having looked at some threads on here in detail I am pretty much convinced to tinker with my system in the context of reducing potential network noise - an experiment to see what happens.
I have a 500 series set up ND555, 1x CD555PS, NAC552, NAP500, BW 803 D4, Chord m6 power, Chord Sarum T speaker cables, Super Lumina interconnect for ND555.
For my network I have a Cat6 network managed by a Unifi Dream Machine, in my AV cabinet is a Unifi lite 8 port PoE switch. My WiFi is run by Unifi U6 lite access points.
I have looked and my current shortlist is a Melco S10 (found a pre loved one) or a Phoenixnet switch. Think these look good if pricier than I have paid for network kit!
What cables? There is a HUGE variance on these. I was looking at the Audio Quest Vodka.
Any help or advice in helping my quest into network fiddling would be appreciated. FYI I don’t currently run a separate network for Audio…
Some may say that I need to focus on adding the second PS on the ND555 first - just thinking this as I write.
I would not look at the Audioquest Vodka in your case, it may exacerbate the latest firmware update negatives, if you tended to prefer the 3.8.
The PhoenixNet has a full and organic sound. But not cheap.
I waited a few months to get PhoenixNet. Right deal came up.
But I had the EE8 with Farad Super 3 to start. The Farad was new and I spent extra on cable. Although I don’t use EE8 now, the Farad is excellent with Limetree. So worthwhile keeping hold of these boxes.
When you have a great system that you have brought together, switches and cables are refining/ tuning the sound to your ears and room. A good dealer willing to keep lending until you find the sound you like is needed.
Comments on here will steer you in many directions. For example i like AQ Vodka with Phoenixnet, but not Diamond. I did not like the Melco switches ( not heard the £12k) new one. Take your time.
