It’s not often I get a chance to take one of my bikes out these days, however, this morning I took my Mother’s car to the garage in Rye for a service and MOT and stuck my Brompton in the boot (fits the boot of the mini perfectly). Set off on a ride just before 8. Here looking back across the nature reserve;

I was sitting on the same bench earlier this week.

I’ve done a Bob Dylan and gone electric.

I chatted with a couple of old boys who cycled over to the Mary Stanford lifeboat house to dig up lug worms. Both had electric bikes, although one was still tending his wounds after an “unintended acceleration” event threw him off the week before…

Unless they have been illegally modded, e-bikes only accelerate in proportion to rider pedal effort which is under conscious control of the rider. Sounds like a bit of comeuppance for the hacker.
Like Naim, e-bikes shouldn’t be tampered with!

A few hours inside the Versailles park including a lunch; looking at people who did not know how to row a boat. :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

I did not know the area and castle was that massive.

Does anyone have experience with pocket battery pumps?

I had a Muc Off one that I used satisfactorily twice in 18 months but came to use it yesterday and it is broken. It won’t accept a charge.

I liked the principle and that it did get decent pressure into a road tyre but won’t buy another Muc Off one for sure.

We sell Fumpa at work. Not many warranty cases as far as I know.

Don’t you have have two year warranty on electrical products in the UK?

It has a 2 year warranty but I can’t find any proof of purchase in my emails etc, I am not sure where or when exactly I bought it.

I keep thinking I ought to get one as they seem an advance on CO2. Then I hear a story like Bruce’s and I retreat until the technology matures more (and the prices moderate…).

Back from 2 weeks in France, SW Brittany and then the Lot, SW of Cahors. Slightly mixed weather but great roads and we did plenty of miles. My wife is a fair weather cyclist in the UK, but French sunshine gets her on her (e-assisted) bike!

So glad you said that, she got loads of comments from French cyclists about it!

It is from Cycology. They have some wild designs, especially for ladies.

No recent love for this thread so I’ll post.

100k c 1100m of climbing this morning. Pretty ‘balls to the wall’ - legs weary now :joy::joy:

After leaving home feeling something wasn’t right… took me 20 meters to work out i was still wearing my reading glasses.
Had to u-turn, go back unlock the door, swop for my clear cycling glasses, and once again onward and outward :glasses:

On the bike with mudguards now,
and comfy tubeless tyres recharged with fresh sealant :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

I am mostly on the MTB now, although the trails are still very dry. I have a week away in Scotland in November doing some of the 7stanes.

I cycle regularly but nothing epic so any posts would lack interest. I’ll be out shortly. I enjoy a regular trundle & will keep going as long as I can.
