Afternoon All - I appreciate similar questions have been posed in the past (albeit not for a while I believe!): I’m considering upgrading my Acoustic Energy AE500s to a pair of floorstanders for my Superuniti.
Does anyone have any experience of floorstanding speakers with the Superuniti?
I’m interested in the Spendor A2 in particular, and would be glad to hear of any direct experience of this combination.

@DEK I have the SN3. I auditioned the Spendor A2 and chose the A4 instead. The A2 were too low in height for my couch. Had my sofa been lower, I might have chosen the A2. Many feel the A7 is the best of the A series.
I have the A6 with my SuperUniti and I love the sound. Now you can purchase the A7 that I have listen to many times, and I believe are a good improvement on the A6.

I had a SuperUniti which I ran using Neat SX5i for some years and they worked remarkably well.
I then upgraded to an NDX2 with Supernait 3 with the same speakers.
Although discontinued, I would still recommend the Neat SX5i if you can find a pair.
Spendor is introducing a new version of the A series. It was announced at a show last month and covered by The Ear or HiFi Pig. Regardless, the line gets better as you move up the range provided your room can handle the additional bass output. Take home a demo pair, even the A2 go amazingly low. And, new-and-improved doesn’t mean ‘better’ every time - the current range might go on sale in the coming months.

Bought a pair of PMC 23’s when I had a SuperUniti which worked really well and continued to do so when the SU was replaced with a NAC-N 272/250 DR.
I assume their subsequent replacement, the 23i (?) would be equally rewarding today.

@DEK . I have had an SU hooked up to B&W 683 S2s for a few years now and have been very pleased with them. Also have B&W 603 S2s (newer version) hooked up to an Atom in another room - they sound great. I tried the 603 S2s with the SU and that combo also sounded really good. The latest version of these speakers is the 603 S3 which are around £1800, the S2s can be had for less that £1000. Maybe worth considering if you don’t want to spend too much ?

Thank you for the super-helpful responses and food for thought. Indeed I omitted budget - preferably around the 1k mark - so second-hand market may be place to search
If you are considering Spendor A2s I presume you want some small floorstanders. In that category I would consider Kudos X2 (which I successfully used for some years with a Superuniti) or Neat SX2 which are a very similar design. Both are now discontinued but can often be found on the second hand market.
I"d suggest that for buying power even if your budget was several times this amount.
