Focal Aria 906

Anyone used these with Naim equipment. Are they a good match.
Thanks.

Search for Focal Aria 906 and you’ll get 50+ topics discussing them.

That’s the problem, no time to read through it all, just wanted a quick response before purchase.

So you want someone to do the work for you? As with any speaker purchase, you need to try them, ideally at home. Every room is different, and we all like different things.

I have searched but only one topic coming up & it’s not really in line with my needs. I have a small room & i’m coming from smaller speakers. The speakers are second hand so no way of trying them, hence the question. If no one wants to help out, no worries, have a great day.

Just try it, I’ve heared their bigger brothers a couple of times at my dealer with XS level Naim components and it was great value for money.

LeeT - are you still using a NAIT3 (and Neat Petites)? You can add system information to your profile, that can really help others help you. Good luck with the speakers. I found a few ppl posted about the Arias, at least two, Ardbeg10y above, and one other, enjoyed them with XS amplification, which isn’t a million miles better than your NAIT IMO.

Yes, still have my Nait 3 but also using a Unitilite. Petites have gone but have the newer Petite SX. Someone offered me a pair of the Focal at a decent price & wondered how they might work with my Unitilite. I will give them a go because the guy is willing to drop off & i can always move them on if not suitable.

I had them through several naim upgrades. I liked them a lot they are front ported which can make them easier to place in a room and they are easy to drive they showed off any improvements I made to the rest of my system. They were occasionally harsh to my ears but I’ve discovered I prefer a warmer smoother presentation than most. I tried several other more expensive speakers and before I found my harbeths I was starting to wonder if I was better off just keeping the 906’s. I’d definitely at least try them.

I have been reading the top end can sound a touch muted on these, lacking a little sparkle & detail, anyone else had this experience.

I have the Focal Aria 936s in conservatory connected up to main system via Beresford switch. I used to have them in listening room but replaced them with Focal Sopra 2s.

The Focal Arias are very good speakers. Plenty of power and a modern ported design. For the money they cost I think they are brilliant. I had the centre speaker 900CC as well and that was good too. I really like Focal Arias and would recommend them in their price range.

I haven’t had 906, but the 900CC was very good and still have 936s on end of full 500DR system in 2nd room and they sound great.

You won’t be disappointed.

Doesn’t that right forefinger of yours get tired from all that wagging?

I have the Focal Aria 906 and use them with my Naim Unitilite.
I did a lot of research at the time and they were recommended by a few people and stores.
I like them very much and they look great on the matching stands if you can get them.

I use them with Nait 5Si, Naim CD 5Si and Bluesound Node 3, and I’m pretty happy with the sound, particularly with very well produced music. They’re really nice with jazz and ambient, but can get a bit muddled with large orchestral pieces in my view. Hope this helps.

I had the 906 with my Atom a few years ago. Was a good combo, the sound light on its feet and very enjoyable. Not too fussy about positioning and room but benefit well from the matching stands. Do go listen if you can.
