Focal Bathys volume increments

Hi all.
Absolutely blown away and loving every second of listening time with my focal Bathys. But the volume increments when using Bluetooth with iOS are infuriating. I’ve emailed focal support asking whether there will be an update to address the issue but the reply came back stating that “they are working as intended”
All my other third party Bluetooth devices have a much finer volume adjustment when using with the same apple devices.
What a shame that Focal have created such a fantastic sonic experience that is hindered by such a basic listening fundamental as volume control.
Either too loud or too quiet without an in between. Has anybody else experienced this? And has anyone found a decent workaround?

Sadly this is a well-known issue. https://community.naimaudio.com/t/focal-bathys-fix-for-volume-increments-likely/32165

Thanks for the link. Interesting that towards the end of the thread from March 2024 there’s a message from Naim support saying that focal are working on an update to add more increments yet when I messaged them in Dec 2024 was told -
“The volume increments are controlled and affected by the settings on the mobile device that is connected to the Bathys. In the case of Apple products, the incremental increase is greater than it is on Android devices. We have spoken with Focal about this, and they inform us that the Bathys are working as intended, so it seems unlikely that any changes will be made.”
Which would be fair enough if this was the case with all third party Bluetooth devices when used with apple products but I have a handful of other devices that work fine with apple. Which to me would suggest it’s a focal issue.
And it’s not just Bluetooth. Sometimes when using them in very quiet conditions in dac mode I’d like to go one step quieter but when turning down another notch they go to silent.
Such a shame when it’s such a great product.

I don’t think there’s any solution. Except for connecting them with USB C !

Same issue and really bothers me to the point that I try to avoid using the Bathys as much as possible … never found a way out. Focal s answer to this well known problem is light and unreasonable : iOS is a major part of the market …… they should indicate « with Android only » on the product …

I’m new to Naim community, I just got Bathys. I like the design, sound quality, heck I even like the LED light, Aptx Adaptive codec is great. My only gripe is the volume increment. Sadly my favorite volume level cannot be produced. It’s either too low or too high. I know this issue has been discussed to death. . . I hope update fixes this. I guess my ear drum will thank Naim?? Lol
