I found the same thing @Dan_M. The reason for posting what i did was to emphasize that the N1 is rear ported, so defo needs to be further from walls. After a lot of trial and error with my N2’s the position they ended up in was the best for my room and my ears lol. The soundstage though is now epic, even more so with the volume past 10 0 clock

Here are some more pictures to show the room better. The speakers are 22 inches from center of tweeter to side walls and 36 inches from front of speakers to rear wall

Lovely big room. On surface of things I would experiment a bit. Try moving speakers out and away from walls and moving sub woofers into corners.

So look, I had Focal Aria 936s and had them close to the wall. As soon as I moved them out into the room it really opened up the soundstage.

Just try a few things with positioning first.

Try moving armchairs out and speakers further forward. This is just an experiment remember! And a suggestion.

Hi @naitman as I have similar amplification to you → NAC332 / NAP350s and have recently successfully added an NPX300 for my preamp, I suggest you could try that instead of changing your loudspeakers - if your dealer can loan you one, and you can accommodate it.

I have found it increased soundstage, impact and musical performance details, because it helps the preamp (and the mono’s) do their job much better. In fact, the whole system seems more powerful. In addition, moving the close armchairs will reap sound benefits too.

I think if he just gets rid of the armchairs and moves those speakers out onto the rug it will sound alot better. Will really open things up. Maybe 2 bass traps in the corners too!

With the subs, should sound superb! Free upgrade moving those speakers out into the room.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I will try moving the speakers and arm chairs today. I do think it makes sense to try the 300 power supply first, especially since I was planning on adding one in the future. Since the 333 is my only source, I guess it makes since to add it there.
