Forgotten Music

I was searching for a CD in the cupboard that contains all my CD’s I must have about a thousand of the things that I have accumulated since the eighties. I have another cupboard with my teenage vinyl!

I came across discs where I cannot remember anything about the music on them.

Has anybody else got this problem?

I can’t remember Nigel, sorry.

Once or twice a year I listen to a (now ripped) CD by a folkie called Mark Gillespie, and have been wondering for years where I came across him.
Recently a friend asked me about Albert Lee and I reminded him we’d both seen him at Cropredy Festival years ago. A quick Google later I knew that it had been the 2003 festival and also knew that’s where I’d seen Mark Gillespie and presumably bought the album.

Mark Gillespie put out a few good albums in the 70/80s, if we’re talking about the same guy.

I’m finally getting round to re-alpha’ing my records and CD’s after some changes in the room a while back. I’m finding the opposite, “Oh that’s great, brilliant album, not had that on for yonks, I must play that back”. Reckon I have enough ‘new’ stuff to last me until about May!

Different guy Pete, a bit of Googling tells me this one is from Manchester originally and now lives and records in Germany.

Thought it’d be odd, he’s not that big here despite having a few good albums especially I’m Only Human. :+1:

Played this album incessantly during the late 60s (and learned some of the guitar parts) then completely forgot about it until sorting though my remaining LPs late last year.

Came as a pleasant shock.
