Am thinking of taking the plunge. My main sources are Solstice turntable & NDX 2/XPS DR.
That’s about as far as i can go for the time being to embrace new Naim.
AI says it will be a substantial improvement, even more so with my n-SAT/n-SUB speaker system. I have no urge to change my speakers at this time.
Anyone else done a similar move and was it worth it?

@Stephen_Tate I went from a SN3/HighcapDR/NDX2/XPSDR to a NC 332/333/250/NVCTT. I found the improvement to be very significant. I then added two NPX300 power supplies. Those further extended the gains.
The NC stuff is different in presentation and tonal balance. Some like.it. Some don’t. I also found the NC gear to be rather cable sensitive regarding interconnects. I used the standard Naim cable for several months before settling on Chord SarumT. Enjoy your journey.

I’ve had both the SN3/HICapDR and 252/SCDR/250DR in different locations running with NSATs plus other speakers - excellent
Now moved to 332/250 NC- I really like them , bit more clarity for me and with Neat Petites
Sonically it’s different to the older gear so need a listen, be interesting to see how they go with NSats
@Bevo i love the NC gear. I the only thing I struggle with is auto standby. I keep alternating between never and 20 minutes. Driving me crazy.
Ah yes I’ve read that quite often over the forums. I’ve heard a NSC 222/250 at my dealer recently (albeit only briefly) and thought that the pairing sounded very clean, and precise.
Incidentally I made a point of visiting the Bristol show earlier this year with the intent of hearing some NC gear of which there was very little, if any, to be seen, let alone heard anywhere at the show.
You say it was a substantial improvement moving on from a system similar to mine so that sounds promising indeed. To add, I’m not looking to add any PSUs into the mix so am rather hoping that there is a significant upgrade to be had, as a bare system, over my current one.

I was originally looking at the NSC 222/250 but this seemed more of a side step from what i already have and so i’ve decided to look further up the chain. As for the n-SATs, my Solstice has shown me how good those are, even when i swap interconnect leads the change is bright and clear for all to hear, and they suit my room perfectly well, especially with an n-SUB in tow.
Later on down the line i may add a PSU but that’s way off for now. Just wanting to upgrade/update my amplification to suit the Solstice, and may sort my digital front end so that it matches the rest of the system in terms of aesthetics and performance as well but like i say, that’s way off for now.
So far two positive posts from yourself and Jaybar who have had similar systems in the past to mine and have made the leap to NC with no regrets. This is sounding promising!
yes I agree Stephen , just look at the 332/250 initially , no rush for the 300 PS
Having said that I also have the 333 streamer and have added to 300 PS to that , as it just needed a bit more to bring the quality more in line with my Linn LP12 Klimax TT, albeit different SQ
In my second system in another location 100 kms away here in Sydney, I still have the NDX2 (running that with a NAIT 50), use to have that with an XPS2.
I rate the NDX2 , it’s a brilliant machine so no rush to replace that albeit I think probably cables required to run that with the NC gear.

Hi Stephen – You also have an interim step option too, moving to the NAC332 and using the SN3 in power amp mode. You’d need the NC preamp XLR to legacy DIN4 cable (00-010-0246) to connect them. You can also move on the Hicap. An NC NAP250 can follow later.

Ah yes, I hadn’t thought of that, I’d forgotten the SN3 can be split in two. Great idea Naim! Yes I’m looking forward to moving the HiCap on and that will also free up a shelf for the 332. So yes, another option to consider. Thank you, James.
I can’t comment on the move from your SN3 but I can say whilst I feel sure that an NPX300 would bring substantial improvements, I’ve been very happy with my 332/250 NC without one, which I’ve had for almost a year. I do like the simplicity of two boxes and just one more for the 333. Give them a chance run in, mine took a good while..
Not on your option list I know, but what about late or serviced OC gear instead? 252/SC and nap300? Even swap out the xps for a cd555dr ?
Feels like it could cost less? A lot of OC is relatively cheap now, but still sounds great.
I agree with James, get a 332 and run it into your SN3. Alternatively if a 250 comes along at a good price, get that first. Mention this to a dealer and I bet you they’ll try and make a deal where they can sell you both at the same time - trading your Supernait and Hicap would take the sting out of the cost of doing it all in one go.
I have thought about this option too as there some some great deals to be had very recently. However one of my main goals is to try and keep the box count low and so looking further up the ladder in the OC stakes kind of negates that. The pre with a built in supply and headphone output seems very appealing in terms of quality, flexibility and space. Also there is always the option of going active to connect up in many other configurations, broadening its appeal even more. With the OC i feel it is rather limited in where i can choose to take my system in the future… 
Absolutely Chris & many thanks. The more i’m thinking about James’s suggestion, and yours for that matter, the more it is jumping out at me. I was thinking of trading in my HiCap DR/SN3 and XPS DR. That should take the sting out of things for sure.
Plus no cost for the special cables required for 332/SN3.
Personally I wouldn’t want to run a bare NDX2 in a system of that quality, I think it needs an XPS as a minimum to hold its own - unless it really is just for casual listening and you can live with the reduced sound quality.
sidebar question; 332/250 into SCM11 a good match ?
@Stephen_Tate i have no issues with using the headphone jack on the 332. I as m sure a dedicated headphone amp would be better, but i have no room. I am using the top tier Focal headphones (Utopia) and the 332 has no difficulty with them.
