lol. They really should! If I’m being honest my latest purchase is a little disappointing. I wasn’t expecting much so it’s exceeded my expectations. As usual I just need to give it more time. It’s not making things worse.
Anybody who has tested an original Furutech e tp609e against the later e tp609 NCF type?
Or against an e-TP80ES NCF?
I have not, but for me the e-tp609 NCF-N1 has been fantastic in subtle and in obvious ways. I love that I don’t think about power at all anymore.
Anyone who’s tried the GTO-D2 NCF? I’m tempted to take a punt on a listing for one. Currently using a SuperWiremold and the Furutech looks really interesting, which looks to be a passive distributor with no LED’s, MOV’s or chokes.
I also have a SuperWiremold. This might temo me in the future. It’s rated 15 amp though, although it doesn’t have any current limiting chokes/filters etc. I may get a pair of Boulder 1151 monoblocks and at peak power they can draw 1600 watts, so on a 20 amp circuits there isn’t much headroom left, not that I’ll ever run them at peak power. I have a 20 amp quad, so if I get these I will have my electrician spilt that into two 20 amp duplex outlets. At that point I might consider something like this, but then I would need two, since I would not put more than those monoblocks on one of the 20 amp circuits. One for the monoblocks and one for the rest.
The GTO-D2 NCF was in the plan more than five years ago but it didn’t really happen as I ended up with the e-TP609 NCF-N1. Without any filters I would expect the GTO-D2 NCF to sound decent, though the GTX-D NCF receptacles on the TP609 are superior so I bit the bullet despite the higher price.
By the way, I just compared the Furutech TCS31/FI28(R) and DPS4.1/FI50(R) NCF on the Sonneteer Orton integrated connected to the tp-609 NCF-N1 and time after time the results remained consistent with the DPS4.1/FI50(R) NCF pulling ahead. Surprisingly the cheap integrated sounds rather spectacular although some cheap Van Damme interconnects are used with it, giving the big amps costing multiple times more a run for their money.
The speaker cables and mains power cable cost a lot more than the amp in this picture below though.
That is not really a surprise is it? The DPS is the reference bulk cable in the line up and so are the connectors.
