I bought the seeds from Red Dragon seeds. Sowed them earlier this year on 25 Jan. They really need 27c-29c to germinate reliably.

The majority of tomatoes this year have been cherry from B&Q which I bought as a mixed multipack. Unfortunately the labels in the pots did not seem to be correct with respect to the plants being determinate or not so many I assumed would be short and bushy weren’t so had left it rather too late to cut off side shoots.
Far too much green foliage on many plants too which I’m starting to think may have been due to adding Miracle-Gro pellets to the container mixtures - interestingly the one I didn’t as I’d added @Count.d 's mycelial recommendation to the soil instead had more limited foliage, earlier fruit formation and ripening compared to an identical one which had miracle-gro added. Interesting.
Beefsteak toms grown from seed very slow to grow/ripen. Only one plant of large tomatoes has given a few ripened fruit so far.
Courgettes a disaster - mainly hybrid purchases but horrendous white powdery mildew and the courgettes just dying once a few cm in length though could this have been a pollination issue due to limited plants.
Red peppers a mixed bag - several probably in pots too small.
Strawberries - very limited fruit formation.
Picked a massive traditional aubergine from a sad looking plant attacked by slugs the other day but some slug or snail scars on it. Will get a few more from it soon.
Biggest success seems to have been the Patio Baby aubergine I bought at a garden centre - incredibly nice dark green foliage, multitudes of gorgeous flowers and dozens of mini aubergines I need to start using. Looks amazing irrespective of the edible mini aubergines.
Small rectangular pot of thyme (used to have 2 varieties) has been amazing for bees with lovely flowers compared to another variety which just threw up long thin spindly leaves and has probably succumbed to high temps or bugs.

Next to a paler more sorry looking conventional one in a smaller pot than I’d normally use.

My tomato plants barely produced any plants. Some beans but not many

Spider mites got my beans last year and the young plants this year despite trying some insecticides on them indoors. Kept thinking of replanting beans but never got around to it - posssibly just too hot for them this year?
A small chilli plant is peculiar - they’re all quite white but I don’t think they should be at this stage as I’d expected red ones. Quite a few plants I’ve purchased this year haven’t quite turned out to be what the labels described or made me anticipate.
Had an amazing tomato crop this year, only got 7 plants but I reckon I’ve had about 30 of toms off so far.

I originally misread toms as tons! Then thought you’d had 30 fruit per plant which would be far from impossible.
I’ve had mixed results with tomatoes this year. No end of sweet million which are still producing but the beefsteak variety has been very poor. Beefsteak have been poor for the past two years after several years of good crops. Next year I’ll replace them with Shirley which I’ll use for cooking.
Something in the green house and deep beds has been shredding my crop of leaves. I’m pretty sure it’s not slugs but I’ve not seen any other culprits. Think I’ll have to setup my wildlife camera.

Potatoes have been poor this year, as well as runner beans. Lucky that wife picked up a packet of french beans and they have saved the day.

I still intend to grow beans on the balcony of my new flat (Costa Del Tesco) and have a herb garden , with rosemary, lavender and mint. (The Korean mint has been especially good )

I’ve stopped growing runner beans as our recent dry summers mean they are over in a very short period of time. I grow dwarf French beans which have been more plentiful but still don’t last as long as they used to.
I grow in 600mm deep beds which save my back but are too far above the water table which means they dry out quickly if there is any prolonged heat.
