Consider that if one is concerned about multiple boxes, a NAP200DR may be a great power amp for a NAC282.
I’m not saying it as good as an amplifier containing a HCDR but it is one box less.
(My goal is 282/200DR).
A NAP200DR could be added to your Nait XS2. The DR lifts its preamp. The 200 lifts its power output. Win-win.
Then when you are ready, just buy whichever pre you want.
I am aware of what generally happens when dealers demo’d SN3+ HCDR against 202/200, and assume that that lies behind the disappearance of the 202/200.
Most who upgrade from SN change pre-amp to 282 (or 82 or 252 or 52) before changing power amp from SN to 250, which may paint a different picture of the relative merits of the various boxes.
Giving some alternatives a listen must be a good option, no?
