Gilmour's Guitars

Interesting to see that DG’s 130 guitars fetched more than $21 million at auction yesterday - with the famous Black Strat selling for a record-breaking $3.79 million!

Proceeds to environmental charities. What a great guy.

Kudos to him, but at the same time I cannot help but consider how rich he is for him to afford this auction…!

Damm, I was outbid!

You’ll be fine Jamie. A sure second chance offer, Dave will never follow through…

About £150 million, apparently. So he hardly needs the money.

Respect to David.

Really surprised he parted with the white 54 strat which has a serial number #0001. He does seem to be a genuinely nice bloke. I was reading Guy Pratt’s book where he relates the story of Gilmour giving him a Fender bass guitar he coveted as a surprise present.

Interesting to see he is no longer Dave Gilmour these days.

By the way his first solo album is a hidden gem.

There’s No Way Out Of Here is as relevant today as it was in 1978
