As others have said, thanks for the reminder Debs - just noticed it the day after booking my flights for the Maratona. After a bike accident early February and my back seizing up a few weeks ago, I have a lot of work to do before 4 July!!

The Guardian has a piece on Nibali today in anticipation of the Giro.

Nice to see Alex Dowsett has been selected. Hope he can make an impression in the TTs.
Hes a local lad from my area of Essex so a bit biased.

I have been mildly amused by the amended Quick-Step name - I am assuming that the ‘vinyl’ element is unfortunately something boring to do with flooring, not a statement in favour of LPs.

Looking for forward to the Giro this year.
I note that highlights in the UK will be on FreeView on Quest in the evenings.

But one of the best ways of following the Grand Tours over the last number of years has been the “The Cycling Podcast” daily coverage.
Gives a real taste of the excitement and the culture of the races and host country.

Sadly this year the coverage will be without one of the founders of the podcast, as journalist Richard Moore past away suddenly a few weeks ago. As the driving force behind the podcast, he will be missed. But listening to the Giro preview podcast the remaining co-hosts Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe will continue to bring the excitement of the race in the podcast.

A great podcast to listen to, during the commute, the next day after each stage.

It will be interesting to see if Cav can get a few more stages. Apart from Ewan there isn’t that strong a field of sprinters.

Hopefully he also goes to the Tour and gets the record.

Thanks for the heads up re highlights on Quest.

…and they might even show some cycling inbetween the commercial breaks

Agreed it’s not a patch on the superb ITV4 coverage but better than nothing…
