Forget the question below. I just noticed their new name is ‘Netcompany INEOS’

@Debs, I noticed on the Ineos web site that they had the Giro d’Italia listed on their website but not listed among the 21 teams. Do you know if they will be attending or what’s up?

Now called Netcompany Ineos….

So who’s going to come 2nd…..

Thanks for the help, it took quite awhile for me to pickup that they put the word Netcompany in front of INEOS.

Not a lot of people there which are on the level of Vingegaard, so let’s see how exciting it will be - I will of course follow it…

@Debs, good to see that you’re on top of this as ever . Always enjoyable, even though I’m not a cyclist.

Can we hope for some “pundit analysis” provided by Mr. Tux? :cat_with_wry_smile:

The only sport Mr Tux is interesting in, and exceeding good at, is the Dreamies Chomping Championship, and here in the village he’s the Reigning Champ.
He’d be raving furious if he ever came second.

Stage 1 : Nessebar - Burgas (147km)

The Giro d’Italia kicks off the first of three days in Bulgaria with this innocuous outing between two Black Sea cities. The peloton will track the coast from Nessebar past the Burgas finish, before making two passes of a circuit at the far south of the route, featuring the cat-four climb of Cape Agalina both times round.
At the sprint finish Jonathan Milan will take the win, and the Maglia Rosa (Spoiler Alert!)

As ever Debs, many thanks for setting up the thread and giving us all the information. Looking forward to the racing and all the wonderful Italian scenery (eventually!).

Stage 2: Burgas - Veliko Tarnovo (221km)

We will have to wait before the start of Stage 2 for any details of abandonments after the Stage 1 sprint finish horrendous crash.
Well done Paul Magnier for a fine victory and winning three jerseys, he is likely to only wear the Rosa for Stage 2.
Today’s stage could see more contest for sprint points at Sliven, before the climbers and puncheurs take over at the gradients.
