Osees won it!
I enjoyed Shaboosy…sort of red neck feel good vibe
Bryan Ferry
I was lucky enough to go and have been a few times before. If you enjoy live music it’s by far above the most exhilarating experience you can ever encounter and opens your mind to all manner of new artists and music that don’t even make it anywhere near the BBC coverage.
The beauty of it is that there are people there of all ages, so you’re never too old to go. It’s a great reminder as well of why we love hifi… to try to get as close to the music as possible. Unfortunately I just don’t think my setup can reproduce what it feels like when you’re in the middle of 60,000 people and The Prodigy are in full swing.
I offer you the Wacken Metal Fest at the end of July. Daughter2 & bestie, and Daughter1’’s partner will all be there! Sounds bl00dy good to me!
They live stream the main stages, and some others. The stream will be a fixture on our TV system over the four days!!
Not sure how legal it is but the Neil Young set is on the Internet Archive, no links allowed here I think so search Glastonbury 2025 and filter BBC in the left panel.
Glastonbury 30 years ago and at 25 it was one of the best live performances I’ve personally ever witnessed.
Got round to watching the Prodigy set. Excellent.
To be fair to the Beeb, it appears since I posted this.. BBC Suffolk have started to go out of their way to advertise their presences at local music events.. supporting grass root acts… it’s almost as if they read this thread…..
I have just watched RAYE’s set with audio Aircast to the main stereo. What an entertainer she is! And what a great voice. Brilliant.
So much still to watch. Amyl and The Sniffers were great. Unpretentious sweary punk rock done well.
I watched the Olivia Rodrigo set last night. I hadn’t seen or heard her before and wasn’t sure what to expect. I really enjoyed it and it was great that she just played with the band without dancers, multiple costume changes and other distractions. It was wonderful to see her young fans singing along and knowing every word. Of course, my favourite part was when Robert Smith came on and they sang Friday I’m In Love and Just Like Heaven. The Cure would be my Glastonbury headliner every year. Just Like Heaven has a lyrical brilliance that rather outshone the much simpler lyrics of Rodrigo’s material, but then I’m not really her target audience!
YouTube has video of the Acoustic Stage at Glastonbury 2025, including Roy Harper with his son Nick. (BBC don’t film this stage)
Daughter (25) watching Joy Crookes so we are too. Enjoyable!
