Good to see that Naim/Focal were at the London CanJam, a Hifi show with a younger demographic, who seem to prefer headphones to traditional big speaker HiFi.

A traditional HiFi manufacturer, who sees where the future is.

I was not there, but I saw this mention on “HiFi Pig”, via Head Fi

Naim and Focal had a display of their Bathys and Bathys MG, alongside the Naim Uniti Atom Headphone edition streaming amplifier, Stellia, Azurys, and Utopia. Nothing new from Focal or Naim this year, however the Utopia does pair nicely with the Uniti Atom HE, offering up a punchy and dynamic sound. It’s crisp and clear, yet not fatiguing and a great start to the show.

Interesting to see that headphone listening seems to be very popular at the moment if the show pictures are anything to go by.

Good to know Nigel.

I grew up with head-fi. My first ‘setup’ was an ipod mini and Shure e2c back in early 2000s. It proved to myself music is important to my life, and always into the walkman idea that ‘everywhere is your music room/personal space once put on the earphones’, it’s big things to any young people.

My very last DAP was a Sony WM1Z – before that my players I always having a neutral to cooler balance, not until a WM1Z taught me how cosy a warmer and natural balance can be. Then I moved to HD800S, and then HiFi when I have my company and office – before that I had 20 years exp with head-fi.

I hope one day Naim will consider wireless earphones and doing it the Naim way so to draw younger generations into HiFi and Naim, but I defo know it’s a very difficult area Naim wouldn’t want to dip into.
