Goodbye Penelope

The Queen of the Sitcom, Dame Penelope Keith, has died. For 6 imperious years she ruled the comedy airwaves in The Good Life and To The Manor Born.

Thanks for all the laughs Penelope- you were utterly brilliant

With her pedantic grammar, Margot Leadbetter would have been an excellent contributor to the naim forum!

Sad news…

I grew up with The Good Life.

My dad really took the self sufficiency stuff on board and our garden was reminiscent of Tom and Barbera’s for a few years (minus the animals)

Funnily enough, our neighbour was a bit of a “Margo” type too.

RIP

RIP - She was always great on TV and in some ways this seems like end of an era. Pretty sure she recently did a new interview on BBC4 and looked OK so a bit shocked by this.

Sad news such a brilliant actress and everything she was in you knew it would be good before even seeing it.

What makes the deaths of all these great stars doubly sad it that, thanks to TV, we remember them as they were 40/50 years ago, assume time has stood still for them until forced back to the reality that they have aged, just like us.

RIP, thanks for the memories.
