HA HA but it’s not funny

All working well,
But what are the chances of finding the nut that will fit over the headphone socket?

Ever wondered what’s in side a HA HA

EBay is your friend here. Measure the thread, then just order some nuts that will fit. Though, you may need a thin half size thickness nut.

DG…

I’d be searching for 1/4” jack sockets online, in the photo it shows yours is made by Rendar (rare these days)

Buy a socket and take the nut off. The plastic thread is quite coarse on these and a metal nut will chew it up.

My NAHA appears to have a washer. And both nut and washer ( if indeed it is one) are in gloss black.

Maybe worth sending off for a re-cap? Those old Rubycon caps and blue Tants look to be from a 1990s vintage? Also pot probably wants changing as well…

I’ve had a look about, they are either to thin or too thick,

Without unscrewing mine ( so don’t ask! :grinning:) but using my steel rule, the washer is 1mm thick, and the nut is 4mm.

Black plastic ones on the bay.
Can’t post a link but there is an item I D

Seen the washer, had it all apart to clean it,
Thought it be 4mm thick thanks for clarification

Nice find, thanks
I did not see them,
Only need 1 tho

Cheap enough.
Sell the rest. :+1:t2:

Cricklewood Electronics have Neutrik 6.3mm jack sockets in black for £1.20 +pp. They’re mono, but you are only interested in the nut & washer.

There are even a couple of Rendar sockets on the auction site

I’m finding loads now I’ve changed the search thank you,

Naim, or Class A, might sort the nut and washer as part of the service too! Though possibly an expensive way to source them if it’s operating and sounding fine as it is

You could try asking your dealer or contacting Naim - they may still have what you want in a drawer somewhere.

The main thing to be careful of with the Olive NAHA is the volume pot. It’s floating (sounded best that way) but that unfortunately meant that unless you’re very careful with it any torsional stress applied repeatedly over the years could eventually damage the solder connection with obvious results…

Just to mention that I had mine serviced last year after the pots started to get quite crackly. Came back good as new. I hardly use it but it’s nice to have the option.
