Has anyone tried putting files into Core’s downloads folder with an iPad?

With the present issues of accessing the Core’s downloads folder over the network from a Windows 10 PC, I am interested in non-windows ways of doing it.

I see that my iPad running the FileBrowser app can see into the downloads folder on my Core, although I had to accept a blank username and password first for it to connect. But I haven’t tried writing anything yet (mainly because there is nothing suitable on my iPad!). Has anyone had success with this?
