Due to an upcoming move abroad I’ve sold my main system and for the near future will be listening with headphones HD650’s I’ve kept my P8 record player and Trichord Dino and so am looking for a vinyl only headphone amp for about £500 any ideas?
Consider a Lehmann Audio Drachenfels that can be found for €600. Compact and sounds good.
I am a fan of Violectric by Lake People in Germany.
[I have the Niimbus.]
I think the V101 and the V202 are in your price range.
Rupert Neve Designs just under £500? An ex-BBC engineer sadly he’s no longer with us. RNHP precision model.
Graham Slee , make three or four .
This is in your budget - I had/have a super Graham Slee phono stage . It was put into retirement when I bought my Nait 50
Best wishes on the move
What about the MoFi UltraPhono to keep things simple? It’s an excellent MM/MC phono preamp with a built-in headphone amplifier for a very reasonable price.
I used it for a long time purely as a phono stage, and even with very high-quality cartridges - both MM and MC - it was definitely not the bottleneck in the system. (And the mono switch saves you from needing a dedicated mono cartridge — at least for records cut with lateral groove modulation.)
