Afternoon to you all. I have picked up a naim CD 5. The unit appears to spin up fine, moves back and forth through tracks, but no output on the 5 pin to RCA. Seller said it had worked previously but had stopped, also said he’d tested the drive on soak and it works with a couple of errors. I’ve tested connecting through a Soho’s port, the port detects the device but no audio. Likely to be a laser replacement needed? Any advice appreciated.

Is the link plug fitted to the upgrade socket at the back? Without that the analogue output stage won’t get power so no output.
