I found that Hiscox were quite the opposite when we had a lightning strike that wiped-out most of the electronics in our house. I sent them photos and emails with quotes for repair and they paid immediately. They even insisted that I get the next model up in TV as they didn’t think that what I suggested as a replacement was a good enough!
Premiums aren’t cheap but I’d rather pay the extra and know I was going to be treated well in the event of a claim.
