Hifi Rose RS130 revisited

For those who managed to stick with a Hifi Rose 130 despite the deplorable state of the software it launched with: the latest update has finally sorted most issues. For example, USB dacs are now properly recognised, the media library scans fast and updates itself when new music is added, cover art is consistently displayed.

Some minor bugs remain, but the machine has now operates almost as good as it sounds.

Wait, 5k transport has these issues? Damn this game

If I were looking for a very good digital transport at around the £4k of the HiFi Rose, I’d buy a Nagra streamer.

Most transports don’t offer the functionality I’m looking for: an offline transport, playing music from an internal SSD via the front panel interface, without requiring a tablet or computer to interface. The Rose is one of the few audio players built around this functionality. Melco / Dela does this, too, but it has a more limited interface and for big libraries, the Rose is more convenient.

I think maybe Aurender offer that facility?

Yes, just checked. The Conductor app works without an internet connection. Front panel control.Remote control also. Local storage possible. I must admit to being tempted by the A1000 (player and transport).
