The Weiss DACs sound excellent. My impression was that they tend to be on the neutral, dynamic side. Ultimately, it’s a matter of taste. But the configuration options are very diverse. You would have to be willing to spend a lot of time exploring them to find the optimal solutions. Definitely not for everyone. As far as DSP is concerned, Daniel Weiss also admitted that optimal room optimisation with room acoustic elements is probably the better solution. However, this is not possible everywhere.
Thanks for the information, useful. I think someone here has the Oscar Duo with Supernait 3, I may be mistaken though. FWIW from my experience with Duke 2 standmounts, Marten speakers will benefit a lot with powerful and dynamic amps after I switched between 282/250DR, Luxman L-590AXII and Gryphon Diablo 300. I still own all these amps. With the “wrong” amps, the clarity and dynamics will be compromised, for example electric guitars in the background sound subdued and do not extend out to the front row, getting lost in the mix or sounding soft and rounded. With the right amp, everything just pours out from the speakers with good clarity. In this sense, I’m not sure if the Nait 50 will be up to the task as the 282/250DR and Luxman somewhat failed in my system. The Luxman sounds good but Gryphon sounds great.
If I were to rank the amps, it’s Diablo 300 > 590AXII > 282/250DR
I felt slightly more sarcophagus than coffin, but the impact is the same. I listened to.a pair of Borgs that my dealer had when I bought my Finkteam Kims - they sound fantastic, but between the size and look, there was no way that they would get past the aesthetics committee at home.
And then there’s the cost…
i guess they have no hi waf wife acceptance factor also wilsons but i like them i mean wilsons like i have no gf or wife i have no woories at moment and i gues my sonus fabers in gloss black will be appealing to most women
wow i spended a amount of time trying to find the price from the dartzeel speakers unfortundly without any success, but what i find out is that the dartzeeel integrated that was conected to them is insane 40,000 dollars auch and they even have a 80k integrated i suspect that the speakers are no cheaper than 30k ho knows maybe they are even 40 or 50k
I was really keen on a set of Olympica Nova III’s. They sounded wonderful, and (I thought) looked beautiful. My wife’s comment (to the salesman in their demo room) was “they’re quite ugly, aren’t they?”
lol in what finish they where wallnut, wenge i think blacks olimpica are very rare, did they have grills on or off
and a other video of the dartzeel system
Thank you for your feedback and sharing your experiences. This is very helpful to me. @bongoman has Nait 50 and Marten Duke 2 in different systems. He once mentioned that he wanted to try the combination of Nait 50 and Duke 2. I would be very interested to hear the results. Happy Easter!
Yeah, sure
They’ll be like moths to a flame!
@Wilfried I’ve reported back as requested on the Nait 50 speakers thread
They were in walnut - the lighter wood looked rather lovely, and matched well with our other furniture (or so I thought).
My wife’s problem with the hifi industry was that she felt that as the prices of the product went up, manufacturers felt that they need to “make a statement” with how the product looks, which ends up with it being (in her mind) too dominating in the space it was placed.
The Finkteam Kims I ended up on both sound lovely, and blend in better (the white face helps, as does the open stands). It probably helped that they were a good 150mm shorter than the speakers I had been looking at.
I very nearly ended up with PMC Fact 12s, which she was ok with as they are thin, but the prices increased significantly when I was looking (a year before I got the Kims), and I didn’t jump quickly enough.
