Dennis Koven - middle of the road, nothing special, most probably ok given pricepoint - so value for money…

thanks for reports bert
Magnepan - Part 1
Oue Minnesota - for this type of system you need to be in a quiet listening space - at the show this was not the case, so you have ears for the music while noise in the background destroys the experience. As they play Vinyl on this specific album too much popping - while I love carachter of Vinyl, this would annoy me too much if I would have to regularly listen myself.
Yello - a bit unexpected choice of music for this type of system, which is more tuned to classical music. It sounds actually quite good, while the bass is booming a bit too much.
Tin Pan Alley by Stevie Ray Vaughan came across very clean on the PMC. But also very boring for my taste.
Burmeister - Part 1
If I noted correctly. The LP275 for Vinyl, now modular with phono preamp. 259 power amp which is used in a mono setup (while being stereo). Speakers the BX100 now production while we saw them last year as concept.
Agnes Obel - not sure if the mix is like that if not otherwise her voice is quite tight to the left speaker.
Burmeister - Part 2
Joe Bonnamassa - drum intro nice and full, good expression of the live feeling. Now also better soundstage as before with Agnes Obel. Now interested what about fine details ?
Lhasa de Sela - bass looks to me a bit bloating…, or ?
Yello - a bit heavy overpowered, missing lightness
Oscar Peterson - is quite special as they brought this on limited pressing out with pure sound direct cut.. like before the feeling that it is a bit overpowered and missing the lightness I experience at home (lightness I mean the dancing carachter).
The demo overall was a bit time pressured which was not needed when they just had allowed five minutes before. Some forget that you also come for deep listening and that the demo also needs to be an experience…
Piega - Part 1
Francine Thirteen - heard this more at the show, a nice track to test a system. The percussion on the track is well transported by the speakers
Jenifer Warnes - again percussion is well reflected in it’s fastness and details in the mix
Bermeister at least looks pretty cool. Lots of money in those pictures though!
Piega - Part 2
Actually the demo also involves three other brand. Leica for a Beamer which is very close to the screen, screen integrated in a closet. Screen also usable in bright daylight.
Bobby Bass - not my music, but the voice is unique..
Together with Rose they created a new firm. The loudspeaker is the 801 which will be available in autumn. It’s a kind of middle model. The ribbon is combined with a horn giving it unique carachter in how it transport the sound and also speed (which I could hear).
Francine Thirteen - again, interesting piece and the crashing sounds at the end of the song are well represented by the system.
@BertBird Which speaker shall I buy then? ![]()
Nice to see the Platine Verdier resurrected.
High end Vienna - to avoid Eurosongfestival - plannedfrom 04 till 07 june 2026
TAD - Part 2
Kurt Nielsen and others - sounds nice
Francine Thirteen - have the feeling at the Piega stand the high notes had a faster response, while this still sounds nice but perhaps less attack
Bjoern Berge - ok, haven’t heard extreme high frequencies in this demo, so difficult to say if the system also sounds well in that area.
I remember that I was last year or the year before more impressed by there smaller but very expensive speakers.
Auer Acoustics - Part 2
Kaz Hawkins - very focussed soundstage not so expansive
Sara - the system is well equipped to play this type of music.
Please keep responding, I apologize for the less precise comments, it’s a bit difficult for me as in this part I constantly need to selects pictures by scrolling also through the last pictures of my deceased cat Yang.
Chord - Tosca, I am not a fan of the chord full systems (love the cables and interconnects though), example is now with Tosca should be music which pulls you in but it doesn’t it’s too cold to analytical to my ears…
Dillon - strange song, the music doesn’t attract me, so doesn’t help as well in appreciating what the system can and can’t do
Dillon - another song, I am walking out as I feel I am wasting my time here. Also not well presented, just playing music….
I like her (Dillon’s) music. Went to a concert last year - that was a bit strange… ![]()
MBL - Part 1
Stayed long at MBL, besides to normally good sound now also an extensive explanation of the head of design on how the components of the system are build and why things works as it does. I was for quite a while well interested and stayed until the end of the demo. What also was an interesting I was completely sitting on the side of the left speaker and still I had a very good sound. Which is a testimony on the specific qualities of this system.
He explains how the lack of cabinet helps the speed of the system. And according to him the resolution of the system is high and can even be heared at lower volumes.
Dominique Fils - great sound even while I am totally of center sitting
Lou Reed - to me a strange song…
