How Do We Protect Our Privacy in a System of Datamining?

Interesting you should mention Starbucks, as I’ve heard of scammers setting up a portable wifi network with the same Starbucks settings, pack it into their bag, then sit in the corner of Starbucks, causing people near by to connect to their network instead, where they capture all the traffic.

I have been known to use free WiFi, but as Data packages are getting so much cheaper these days, I try to avoid it

I have absolutely never joined a pubic wifi spot. Bad hoodoo. Tethering to my phone, VPN, etc. are the only remote connections I will do.

But as for protecting privacy, if I’m honest, most blokes secretly dream of this:

Mybe their partners do too, but in my experience, off grid and flipping the bird to the rest of the world seems to be a very blokey [and utterly harmless] fantasy.

Yes, I want to be completely off grid, but have Broadband for chess.com, Qobuz and YouTube. :grinning:
