How far Do You Tweak?

But definitely not a twerker😄

Do you consider these effective tweaks, or just plain snake oil?

YMMV but I have had nothing but poor results with ferrite cores.

At worst they should be benign. And they cost very little. The thing to remember with chokes is that you can also use them on things that might generate common mode noise such as the DC cables of non hifi components. They also need to be the right type for the noise being suppressed.
I tend to apply them to anything that doesn’t carry an audio signal. So power and data cables.

Why the siloxane ‘O’ rings?

Those are “dampers” for small vacuum tubes.

OK. I thought they were to hold the ferrite cores in place around a cable. Tube dampers work, is in, they change the sound of a tube. Even their vertical position on the tube makes a difference. The old tube days… :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Don’t miss the fiddling with them though.

My experience on dampers are varied; sometimes I don’t hear a difference, sometimes I do. When I do, sometimes it seems to provide for an improvement, while sometimes it deteriorated the sound…. or maybe it’s just placebo effect :joy:
