How it looks / not how it sounds

The Lecson reminded me of this, the Sinclair Neoteric:

Karan Integrated.

Thought I should share an image with its top off, as it looks just as good as it does on the shelf with it on.

How about the good ole Naim Fraim? The best looking audio rack in my opinion.

Slightly off topic. Futurama II Deluxe.

Looks like a toy guitar, but sounds like a proper guitar.

Third one, AV receiver. You’d be surprised how many people use one to connect their CD player, turntable, etc to it. However the criticism was not just about AVR but also about stere amps (integrated or not) by brands like, Onkyo, Sony, Marantz, Harman Kardon, Arcam, Denon, Yamaha and many many more out there.

Even if you look at products from most hifi brands nowadays they are the usual plain rectangular black box with a light or two as their main feature.

I must say…I adore their design…it’s some sort of timeless…like the McIntosh blue-eyes look…

With you on the Sansui. My first “receiver” was a Sansui Six (circa 1974)
and thought it very elegant

Someone once said if it looks good it is good. The Xerxes certainly turned out like that for me.

i was thinking which one to buy a few years ago, shindo mobrisson or ear 912…

Best looking is a LP12/CDS3/252/300 into SBLs. Only a fool would say otherwise. Lucky for me that it just happens to be my system, sounds ok too.
