Humorous True Stories

So this thread is really for anyone who has a funny, true story to share.

I’ll kick it off with a story that involves my mother and an ex-Prime Minister.

I spent the majority of my childhood and young adulthood living in a village called Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire, chiefly known for its one famous resident, Roald Dahl.

In the early and mid-70’s though, it had another famous resident - former Labour Party Prime Minister, Harold Wilson. And so it was that my mother and I were queuing behind The Wilsons in the local tobacconists listening to them exchange pleasantries with the shopkeeper. As the Wilsons turned to leave, my mother said to the Prime Minister “you don’t half sound like Mike Yarwood”.

Well I thought it was funny (not at the time though!)
