Less haste, more speed.
I’m sure Naim are tweaking the ‘Pratometers’ as we speak.

Where’s the haste!!
Yeah i know…quality….controls eh!!!
Yeah, it’s been a while, but I am sure there are good reasons for the delay.
There is still a little activity on the Beta Testing Forum, for example.
Patience is a virtue eh Nigel, although at my age time is precious!!
Hope you and yours are well. Just sat here out of the rain enjoying some “banter & music” . Not a bad way to enjoy a Saturday afternoon.

It is interesting to see the CPU usage in the Diagnostics page. I tried the same FLAC track at CD quality:
The CPU usage goes up in that order. Not sure where these differences come from. I also noticed that closing down the Naim- and Qobuz apps while playing reduces CPU usage. Probably due to API interactions between apps and streamer.
Yes, I can imagine that closing the app(s) involved would reduce network traffic and CPU on the device.
However, given the tiny difference in CPU we observed on different sources, not going to worry about it.
Option 1 would be HTTP, 2/3 HTTPS so no idea what difference is between 2/3.
The vast majority of our use of system is Sky Q (no app required/open - TV input selected via remote), then most music listening is via Tidal Connect - where we DO have app open.
Before entering for a Nobel prize in statistics gathering I kinda expected a bigger difference in sources. But it simply didn’t exhibit.
Are you able to stream chromecast.
I would expect that to increase the workload on CPU.
Would that be the same for Tidal?
Yes
Antici… pation.
Fun idea, name a song about waiting - I’ll start:
“Tired of waiting for you” - The Kinks
One from the Firmware itself, “Please Release Me”. - Engelbert Humptyback
