In-car Tidal, Qobuz, etc?

Anyone tried any of the streaming apps by downloading them to their in-car entertainment system, eg Android Auto, even the Naim App for the excellent Naim Radio?

@HungryHalibut what about your Renault EV, Android Auto I think….?

I use both Qobuz and Tidal via Apple Carplay regularly. They both work well.

I’ve worked out the setup to get Roon Arc doing the same thing, but haven’t done extensive testing (as the port forwarding requirement for getting Arc running wasn’t something that I was comfortable leaving open until I understand the other controls that I’ve got wrapped around my NAS)

I use Spotify in my Golf via Android Auto and find it great. It’s slightly different layout than using the app on the phone. I have also used Qobuz in the car but find Spotify a little more user friendly in the car. Not tried any of the radio apps but as I pretty much exclusively listen to 6 Music I don’t have a need for a radio app.

Also use CarPlay for Apple Music and Tidal - for when wanting to listen to music it works fine…

However I am not sure how many are like me - unless I am very familiar with a track of a musical work, I like to concentrate on listening to it to appreciate it and hear the musical attributes, lyrics, style, production and musical approach rather than letting the music just wash over me in a generic sense, I find that can really irritate me.. and I find that concentration listening to music not compatible with driving and I often end up switching off the music or putting something very familiar on…. I suspect its just me……

Me too, when I drive it’s a limited selection of well know albums I listen to.

I do like to immerse my self and focus on the music when listening to something knew and that’s not wise whilst driving!

Like others I use quobuz via apple car pay - works a treat!

Tidal works very well for me in my Polestar EV. It runs natively in the car’s infotainment system!

I believe Renault and Ford EVs also run Android Auto so I imagine that Tidal will work well with their cars as well.

I use a combination of Tidal and Radio Paradise to access music in my car. The Radio Paradise app is also excellent and also runs pretty much flawlessly. I haven’t attempted to download the Qobuz app yet, so can’t vouch for that.

I use Android Auto in the Audi for Tidal, but tend to download the album I plan to listen to onto my phone and play it as a download via Bluetooth (not ideal but adequate - the car’s speakers are Bose).

I listen to both Radio Paradise and Qobuz in my Polestar. I have also downloaded Audio Wagon to facilitate playing music from my attached 1 TB SSD. Only has hi-res music on it so as to get maximum benefit from what I think is a pretty god audio system (Harman Kardon) for a car.

I love Roon ARC. Everything I play at home (downloads, Qobuz, internet radio) I can play in the car, via Carplay & ARC (as long as my iPhone has a signsl).

I just bought a Hyundai Palisade Hybrid AWD Calligraphy. It has Apple Carplay Wireless. We’re going on a 2000 miles road trip in a month (St. Louis, MO to Frisco, CO and back) and I have been wondering about playing tunes in the new car. I have Roon and Qobuz, and I have a library of ripped jazz and classical I put on two USB thumb drives.

I would like to have some options for streaming from Qobuz and/or Roon ARC, but am not confident about connection quality (or any connections at all) driving across the Midwest plains through Kansas where there is mostly nothing but farmland and the occasional vulture.
