Was musing on a couple of thoughts today and was going to post as a new question/topic.
But thought I’d try the search box first.
Found at least two threads which weren’t titled (about the subject I was thinking of), but contained thread-drift that gave me exactly the opinions (good and bad) that I was interested to read.
So two comments:
A) The search box is great and is excellent at unearthing stuff that can be buried in long threads, and
B) Love a bit of thread-drift!
Have a great x-mas, and happy searching all
(P.S. I forgot to search on whether there was already a topic on the search box. Apologies if there is one ).
I just use the Forum on the phone, not going through Discourse. I only discovered though this thread that I can enter a username in the search. It certainly works for me.
It is only available on very limited release; no backward installs…where have we heard that recently?
It seems past forum activity, reading history and ‘likes’ all feed into the AI algorithm to determine what results are presented and now those gremlins have got to work, only the utmost forum peps who ask and search the most direct questions, likely get a focal answer.
Frequently new peps post, never to return, ask @HungryHalibut , it is one of his observations of the forum’s conundrums which he has been known to raise a filet about, when the toolkit isn’t used!
Even our esteemed moderator @Richard.Dane hasn’t been able to put a naim to the culprit(s) behind a lack of consistency as to why search isn’t more positively utilised. It must drive him into a snowdrift or avoiding a windy Kent field, trying to deal with all the off-thread tracks.
Best keep searching, surely an interconnect between the question, an appropriate response or even solution and a character of an idea will arrive on Santa’s sleigh, led by Burndy leads, me thinks.
I’ll get my sack on the way out. Seems I need to update spell checker!
At least one forum peps has searched out something +ve @NickofWimbledon has some sunshine; for the rest of us, meh………still searching! Btw the music is good…try music search on the app…just avoid the keyboard! Bon noel!
