Being a Dubliner JH was immediately nicknamed “Paddy”. Just like my father, who also came from Dublin and joined the RAF in 1940.
Dad’s nickname stuck with him for the rest of his life….except when we were with members of the family, when he was Billy.

Far worse things than stealing a gold toilet were reported in the News at or about the same time as the report of this conviction. What should be done with those people?
As for the gold toilet, which apparently has not been recovered, the moral is if you have really valuable stuff don’t let people at large know about its existence and location (right down to being able to view it up close)! It would also help to make sure it is secured in a way that it is not easy to grab and cart away.
I wonder what happened to the diamond encrusted toilet paper?
