Hi,
I still do not fully understand what I can do with my innous zenith.
Currently I have the zenith connected as server only.
Lan Port from zenith into PN
ND555 (or nds) connected to PN
What happens when I connect it like this:
lan port zenith into PN
Streamer port zenith into nd555 (or nds)
With this connection I can use the wonderful sense app - correct?
But who is acting as streamer in this setup?
Still nd555/nds or the zenith?
Can I use qobuz like this handled through the zenith?
I believe that the Innuous Zenith Mk3 needs to be connected via USB port. NDS doesn’t have one on the back I don’t think. It’s whether it’s compatible with the NDS or needs some form of adaptor.
The Limetree Bridge will work with NDS no problem if you want Qobuz if you can’t get Innuous to work.
Just connect the Innuos to the desired DAC (nd555 or NDS) via USB and appropriate digital converter, and configure its mode accordingly (probably standalone would do it for you), in that way, you’ll be using the Innuos as the streamer and you can use the Sense app
During testing I had a glitch with sense upnp integration resulting in noise from speakers.
A setting which has functioned every Time before - using sense app. After restart of innous it worked again. But damn noise - hate such things when they happen.
Not overly loud but still sweating here - at the end I damage my system and there is no more question how to go further.
I stop now!
The Naim streamers don’t have the required type of USB input. I tried a M2TECH Hiface device which plugs into the USB socket on the Zenith and provides a SPDif connection on a BNC socket. A chord shawline digital cable connects from the hiface to the Naim streamer. Then you have the streamer on the zenith connected to the DAC of the Naim box. It is the lowest cost connection you can get. So quality is OK but not brilliant. However sense is the controller in this mode.
Or you can install a software gizmo on the zenith to let Sense be the controller of an Ethernet connected Naim streamer. But this leaves the Naim box acting as streamer and DAC. Innous can explain how to do this, there was a webpage of theirs that explained it. I am not sure if it is still available.
There are more upmarket USC to spdif converters available which could make the first option a better one.

This was my understanding as well:
***Just an update…Here’s the response I received from Innuos:
Ethernet and USB are very different outputs, it’s not just a matter of changing cables. If you want to connect via Ethernet, this means the ZEN works only as a server and sends the file for the Gustard to play. This is done via a protocol called UPnP. You can turn the Zen into a UPnP server by going to Sense App > System > Settings > UPnP. Choose the Native UPnP option. However, this way you won’t be able to use Sense for playback, you will need an app such as BubbleUPnP on Android or mConnect on iPhone/iPad to browse and play your music - or if the Gustard has a app then use the recommended app from Gustard.***
This has been my set up for at least two years. The sense app is fantastic. I detected a slight sq lift immediately. Don’t know if this config will work for the 555, but Innuos can confirm or presumably adjust accordingly. Settings as follows:
Hi @drago, I think @Petersfi showed how to do the setup of the UPNP/DLNA bridge before I got back to the forum. One advantage of the bridge is you can stream from tidal or Qobuz to a green stream Naim streamer. That’s why I use it.
That sounds bad. I can only take you into the murky backwaters of Lyrion Music Server third party plugins to try to sort that out. It’s best to contact Innuos support so nothing gets damaged
Are These Plugins to be installed at zenith?
I had a sweaty moment yesterday after static noise - but all seems fine. Checked all over and over again
Right now I am back to the naim app.
