About three years ago while I was trying to learn guitar I stumbled across a couple of youngish gals playing bass, electric and singing in their bedrooms the way teens do. I quite liked their song but forgot about them until yesterday when I happened to be changing the bulb on the projector and had my youtube playlist going in the background. That old song I had favourited came on and after I had the projector up and running I was curious if they were still noodling around in their bedroom as unknowns, or if they had both gone on to study as chartered accountants and abandoned music…
Well, I was very pleased indeed to see they have come rather a long way!
They have recently done an absolutely stonking half hour set on the roof of a building Abbey Road style and I found myself really enjoying it - they’ve got a lot of great energy in their playing, a great drummer and have written some great catchy rock songs that slightly remind me of early Blondie.
Female rock with a slightly punky edge, and the bass player is very easy on the eye indeed!!
Enjoy chaps, but it’s always nice to see young emerging bands of genuine quality I think, so I wish them great success… Shame they are Argentinian because I doubt they will get over here to play unless they become huge and I’d love to see them live.
In exchange and a similar vein here’s a couple of songs from an EP ‘Time Is Not Yours’ from a Korean band ‘Say Sue Me’. Played it a lot this year. The second is an instrumental with some great guitar sounds. Probably a bit more pop and less punky but fine all the same.
Radio 6 might pick them up, email the The New Music Fix show and they might play them. The often have interesting and good bands from all around the world on there.
Also they are on Bandcamp and have an album to buy there.
Just ordered this on vinyl discovered them couple of weeks ago. That tome is the beauty of music you can go back over and still discover new bands and music
Thought the offering from @BruceW had more of a Blondie vibe than Pacifica tbh.
For all the female presence in the latter, my attention was caught by the drummer. Some lovely little fills in there and really controlled tom work. Thought the songs were only okay. Perhaps a little too in love with the sound of their instruments soloing than strong melodies? Also thought the singer had a fairly weak/characterless voice. Mind you, I said the same about The Warning and they’ve become an absolute piledriver of a band.
