Bad sisters ?
Martin
Anyone watched Bad Sisters 2 yet?
Yes, I thought it was just as good as series one.
American Primeval on Netflix.
Reminded me of The English.
I’ve watched both seasons.
Season 1 is very dark with the subject of domestic abuse quite uncomfortable at times. Quite engaging.
Season 2 is quite different. It felt like a middle of the road drama, never really making me care for any character.
I doubt I’ll watch S3 if there is one.
We loved it here at Casa de Bhoyo.
… without the class BBC production
A real fan of Aussie stuff.
Just finished S3 of FISK. Great Aussie dry humour from start to finish.
….also ‘A Man on the Inside’ with Ted Danson.
Don’t let the fact it is set in a retirement home put you off. It’s an absolute hoot.
Fisk is a great show, not sure if she’s coming back for another season. She’s pleasantly surprised by the response.
Yes a real simple series nicely played and a little thought provoking. Very enjoyable.
Started watching Cra on BBC4 last night. Irish murder mystery, a bit am dram but enjoyed the first couple of episodes.
It’s got Alex Murphy as a Garda and he plays it well but to my mind he is still Conor from Young Offenders and it’s hard not to expect hi jinx at any moment!
SAS Rogue Heroes is great fun but from Macintyre’s book, ( and others) the reality was incredible enough without the OTT/wrong character portrayals. Mayne didn’t like swearing, he does nothing but in the programme. Reading up on him is fascinating, there is at least one good biography.
“The quietly spoken, thoughtful, brilliant Robert Blair ‘Paddy’ Mayne, four times winner of the Distinguished Service Order and co-founder of the Special Air Service, was nothing like his profane, psychotic, paddywhacking caricature in the cartoonish BBC series SAS: Rogue Heroes . His hideous portrayal does him a grave disservice and has understandably upset his family.” The Spectator.
I watched a docu on PM a few days back and I find S2 of SAS RH comedic as a result. A very sad portrayal IMHO.
I struggled with series one being a comic book attempt. Series 2 saw me abandoning it after less than 10 minutes. It devalues all those who were part of the various special groups that were set up at the time, including the unit that became the SAS.
My grandfather was a part of one such recce group, tasked with landing in Sicily before the invasion and finding and recruiting resistance groups. He describes his war as being put ashore in Sicily and then Italy and walking up to Austria in advance of the following forces.
Yes I don’t disagree about SAS…s2.
The reality is dramatic enough without it being embellished with a fair whack of nonsense.
The Paddy Mayne ‘mad dog poet’ characterisation is just irritating.
And the female ‘love’ interest series running plot is plain ridiculous and seems to have been inserted for the sake of being able to say they have a woman in among the main characters of a male war drama.
Well that’s a shame to learn as I found it quite a good watch. A real shame that someone decided to stretch artistic license way too far. Thanks for this information which has made me considerably downgrade my opinion on the series.

Ben Macintyre’s book is a really entertaining and an informative read. imho.
Decided to check out Netflix for a month, over Christmas, to see what we’ve been missing.
Wife and I decided to see what Baby Reindeer is all about, and I have to say it’s very good. Dark and at times uneasy, but very well made and acted. Worth watching.
