AMERICAN GODS - bizarre but strangely compelling

We seem to have similar tastes, so if you come across anything, please let me know.

P.S. I know it’s Ripley and not Mr. Ripley, but it won’t let me edit it for some strange reason.

Accidentally famous: the story of 883.

Fun little watch on Sky Atlantic.

Sandi’s Great British Woodland Restoration on Ch4.

What it says on the label essentially.

A good illustration of the benefits of hiring a competent ex serviceman able to wait patiently and take out a target in the woods as needed and another to bury the bodies.

Feel sorry for her regarding the motor traffic, I support the idea of a right to roam but it should be with respect and not trashing the place.

Asura (Netflix) - beautifully told story about a Japanese family who learn their father is having an affair.

My wife and I have both just finished the ITV four-part drama Playing Nice, starring James Norton and Niamh Algar. Loads of plot-holes I admit, but we both really enjoyed it.

Really enjoying The Diplomat, took a while to get into it, but worthwhile. End of series one cliffhanger just meant we had to watch seried two. Not hard to imagine it’s how politicians and civil servic act.

Also The Perfect Couple, Nicole Kidman whodunnit. She does not blink when she focuses on someone, scary. Quite light going but enjoyable to the end…even has the fabulous star of the future Billy Howell in it.

Prime Target (Apple TV) - higher quality Da Vinci Code style drama. Watchable if there’s nothing else to watch, but very run of the mill.

BBC Winterwatch has been good this week.

Lots of live Beaver action tonight. Very thick fur, apparently.

Lots of reference to getting their hands on Woodcock.

Just finished Season 1. Mind boggling German time travel drama. Looking forward to starting Season 2.

A brilliant series.

S1 was quite confusing and not easy to follow but they addressed that in S2 when it was jumping from one time to another. You are in for a treat.

Yes, it was anything but a casual watch, and you really had to concentrate on events to make any sense of things.

Or maybe that was just me.

Just started S1 again – I know how it all ends, and Vic Mackey’s means always justify the ends.

Have been watching the new Lucy Worsley history series. She covers well known events but puts them into a bigger/wider more meaningful context than is normal.
