Just watched the first episode of season 3 of House Of The Dragon entitled Salt and Sea Fire and Blood and I don’t think I’ve ever watched a more epic 60 minutes of tv, it literally had everything and was definitely worth the 2 year wait from the end of season 2. Sad man that I am I might even watch it again before episode 2 drops on Sunday.

Amazing how 2 people can watch the same thing and come to different conclusions. Agreed there was some good CGI in use but the battle scenes were confusing and did nothing to stop HOTD remaining an utter borefest with no characters worth caring about

Exactly my thoughts. Yes impressive scenes in terms of action. But I couldn’t care less about the fate of any of the characters. Perhaps owing to the distance in time from S2 but I don’t think that is it all. I found S2 a trial of endurance, always hoping that it would kick into gear. It didn’t for me. I gave up on ep1 of S3 half way through.

I started watching ‘Ride or Die’ on Amazon last night. Not the most high brow TV but I’m certainly enjoying it! Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer lead the cast.

David Attenborough is, of course, an incredibly tough act to follow - and in many ways no-one will fill his shoes. Chris Packham will, I’m sure, do it his way, as he should. DA will be sorely missed when he goes.

A bit late to this one but Mrs Hanumike and I have started watching The Pitt the emergency room hospital drama starring Noah Wyle who for anyone who’s old enough to remember was in that otherAmerican hospital drama ER.
Shot in real time with each episode representing an hour of the day shift at a fictional emergency room at a Pittsburgh hospital this is not tv for the faint hearted and makes the BBC hospital drama Casualty look pretty amateurish, the Pitt however is full on from start to finish and has quickly become one of our go to shows.

It’s a big hit at Bhoyo Towers, but it’s so intense that we can’t take more than one episode every week or two.

The miasma of cruelty and intolerance, slithering like an ever widening lake of viral syrup into the world via the stupid and the ignorant.
I started the first “No, mate, don’t. Just leave it.” as a whisper. By the last programme it had become one of those rare times you find yourself actually shouting at the TV.
Is this where we are? Not quite but as The Rolling Stones once sang, it’s just a step away.

I have come across an engrossing 6 parter on Walter Presents/Channel 4 in the UK called Sea Shadows. A French drama and production. A fishing trawler sinks off the coast in mysterious circumstances. An oceanographer well versed in fishy things is called-in to investigate. She has links to the town. Strange things continue. I’ve only seen first episode but hooked.

Just finished this - thought it a very good watch - There are some excellent French shows available
Followed it up with “How to get to Heaven from Belfast” on Netflix which we found to be a very funny black comedy

With “How to get to Heaven from Belfast” - found it useful to turn on subtitles, since my better half has English as a second language and some of the dialogue is fast with a thick brogue - (The gaelic parts are subtitled anyway)

That series, which was shot in Co. Down among other places, was the reason we are spending our summer holidays in Ireland. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit St. John’s Point etc.
We watched it dubbed into German but when my wife fell asleep sometimes I switched back to the original language 
.
Highly recommended series!

Gomorrah: The Origins is good. Sky Atlantic.
I made the mistake of recording the dubbed version. Got about two minutes in before I realised it was complete and absolute tripe. An American dubbing, with terrible schoolboy translation. Truly awful.
Found the original now, all good!
