This should tell you all you need to know. Please read all the posts in the thread. Thanks.
Just checking I understand the Naim position.
You have no solution (and indeed do not bother to communicate) that you have changed systems so I cannot use my 4 musos for the radio?
I think that this is what this closed post means
Am I correct?
Hi all,
as some of you still on the old Vtuner service will have realised, the service is currently down.
Naim apologise for the inconvenience and would urge anybody who has Naim items with the later 2nd generation streaming platform (New Uniti, Mu-So Gen2, New Classic, ND5xs2, NDX2, ND555) to switch to the new Naim Internet Radio (please ensure your firmware and App are up to date and clear your old Vtuner presets - see the sticky threads here in the Streaming Audio room). For users with the old legacy streaming platform (original Mu-Sos, Unitis, streamers etc…) Naim have been working to bring Naim Internet Radio to these devices and should be ready to launch soon, but until then these devices rely on Vtuner for their internet radio service.
I’m informed that Naim will give an update on the situation with Vtuner on Monday.
Thanks, Richard
No, not correct. You need to read all the posts on that thread, in particular where it explains that Naim have been developing a contingency plan over the past year by developing their own in-house Internet Radio service. This launched for current products in September and since then Naim have been working on making it available also for older Naim streamers - not so easy as the earlier hardware had certain limitations and was never designed to handle an in-house radio service, but Naim have found a way for it to do so and are looking to launch the relevant firmware and App update on the 14th February;
In the meantime, on the thread I linked to, I have suggested some other ways you can temporarily get iRadio to your Mu-Sos. If you use an i-device such as an iPhone or iPad you can download the Apple iRadio App. If you can get Radio to one device you can also take advantage of the multi-room feature to get it to the others as well.
As for communication, I have been posting up any and all information all weekend as soon as I was informed of the vTuner service outage on Saturday morning. When Naim were back in the office on Monday they communicated the information I have linked for you above to all their dealers and distributors to relay to customers. I’m informed that there should also be a pop-up in the app appearing shortly explaining all the above.
