IOS 18.1 or higher & Airplay

Greetings!

This is similar topic with the following post but I would like to issue once more to motivate FW upgrade and share some details.

  • System : Mu-So gen 1 C9DA with FW 2.0

  • Source
    a) iPhone pro 15 with iOS 18.3(also tested with 18.2)
    b) iPhone XR with iOS 18.0.1
    c) iPhone XS with iOS 17.6.1
    d) Mac mini M2 with Sonoma 14.6.1
    e) iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd gen) with iOS 18.1.1

  • Result : The sources with iOS higher than 18.1 did NOT work with Airplay. The connection has been established without problem and even the volume can be controlled but no sound and after 20-30 seconds, the connection is often lost. I have tried all possible suggestion from this community (router setup, unplug/pause/restart, settings of sources) But the symptoms didn’t change. Other sources with iOS lower than 18.1 and also Mac mini had no problem with Airplay.

Therefore my conclusion is that the problem is from the compatibility of iOS higher than 18.1 and FW. I would like Naim to notice this problem and expect FW Update to fix this issue as soon as possible.

Best regards,
Martin

Airplay works fine here on 18.3 using my V1 Mu-so FW 2.0.00

Then should it mean that it is more something with iPhone/iPad configuration? I am going to try to compare the configurations of sources with higher and lower than 18.1.

Thank you for your feedback.

You may have a Wi-Fi issue, is everything connected by Wi-FI ?

Sure thing. Otherwise it doesn’t work with other sources(iPhone XS,XR) with lower iOS. As mentioned, I can control the volume of Mu-so with iPhone pro 15 and iPad with higher iOS 18.1 but no sound and the connection is disconnected after 20-30 sec.

I have got a temporary solution. By removing the SSID from your iPhone, in which Mu-So is auch connected and installing this SSID again on your iPhone, it works again. But this problem happens again sporadically.
