I’ve created some commands on my iPhone to control my Uniti (Atom) through Siri:
Simply create a shortcut, choose WEB, select GET CONTENTS OF, and then insert: http://UNITI.IP.ADDRESS:15081/power?system=on
Executing this shortcut will power on your Uniti
You can assign it a friendly name and then activate it with Siri.
It’s an easy and simple operation.
Siri would be a backup for me. I have a Google Home/Nest setup. I was having trouble with the Google Assistant and my Naim products (see other threads here) but they seem to have worked themselves out (or in one case, I found a workaround).
I’ve spent months trying to get Siri/Shortcuts to control my Muso Gen2, without much success.
It really is trial and error when creating the shortcuts, and even if you manage to write one that works first time there is no guarantee whatsoever that it will work every time!
More to do with Apple than Naim I think, and the documentation for shortcuts and how Siri works/does not work is virtually non existent.
I see that JRiver has an Alexa skill allowing you to play music from its media server. Unfortunately, they have not (yet) done the same for the Google Assistant.
Which I did - or more precisely an even smaller Echo Pop. For $19 on sale at Amazon and two hours trial and error to get it to work, I can now access my music collection with voice commands. Here is a list of the commands it responds to:
Having said that, it won’t help much with my large classical library, e.g. I have about a dozen Beethoven symphony cycles. Each cycle is treated as a single album. How do I get it to play Symphony No. 6 from the 1960s Karajan cycle (as opposed to his 70’s cycle)? Oh, well, nothing’s perfect.
