I’m far from an Apple disciple but I do use an old ipad to control my NDX and NDX2 streamers. I seem to recall when using the NDX the ipad used to shut its screen down if you didn’t use the ipad for a bit after a minute or two but when I use the NDX2 the ipad screen stays on even if I am playing a 100 track playlist and don’t interact with it which is tending to flatten the battery.
Is there a setting I need to change to reinstate the screen time-out feature?
Grateful for any help as bored of charging the old ipad!

In settings, display and brightness, auto-lock then choose time.
The other way is just to touch the off button each time you finish using the iPad. It will lock and shut off the display.
Hi glasnaim - I already had that set to 2m and have just changed it to 5m but it’s still not powering the screen off… It’s almost as if the naim app is keeping the ipad on when it’s playing - annoying!
Any other suggestions?
Many thanks,
J
Hi Johnathan, Not really sorry, maybe try a cheap screen cover, my cover shuts my iPad screen down when I close it. Also @davidhendon suggestion will work.
Presumably you have enabled ‘Stay Connected’ in App Settings? This is what stops your device from going to sleep once you open the Naim app. Disable that if you want to conserve battery life.

Chris,
It worked! I’m very grateful to you for that as it was becoming a chore having to charge the ipad all the time…
This forum is such a wonderful resource at times!
Happy listening,

Yes I think this was put in to mitigate the effects of low quality home network and wifi components that got confused with SSDP in certain scenarios… I think on the whole home network components are far better behaved now, as people Itend to use them more for more advanced apps these days.
