I have had Mu-So 1 st. gen for a few months but I couldn’t bare the soft. Problems with wi-fi or lan or other crashes.
I got rid of it 3 years ago. I missed the sound though and I can buy used one at the moment. It is a good deal.
So the question is. Did they improve the firmware?
It is speaker for living room to play nice in the background. I just want to press power and the music goes, no fiddling and riddles.
Nothing changed with wifi you need stable wifi or wired and then it can work fine. Mine is going on into year 9 or 10. Something kicks it off the network I think ion my network it is small los of connections on the coax itself, at least I know that this happens more or less frequently. Also letting it go into standby after using airplay seems to make it drop the network. However now after the latest firmware it often comes bak again after a power down on mains and a few restarts on the dial.
I have had one QB for nearly 10 years and two others for nine years and apart from one dodgy router supplied by my ISP, (that caused lots of freezes and dropouts) they’ve worked pretty well faultlessly.
I’m still enjoying mine and would struggle to find something as good to replace them with.
Same here. The offspring has had a first gen. QB for the best part of a decade and the only issue is if the network itself has issues. Ergo, never had a problem here. Has the odd issue with the student abode in Sheffield. That has already sorted itself out with my delivery of mesh on Tuesday.
I personally never liked the sound of the original Muso but thought the QB was excellent. However, if you did like the sound of the Muso then, provided you can sort the wifi, you will have a bargain on your hands.
I use the Qbe1 for Naim radio and spotify. Works great wirelessly. Keep it to a basic mission like that and get your wifi in good shape and it does the job well. My kids keep angling for me to upgrade so they can get it…
