Is this case ringing or what?

Firstly, Merry Christmas to everyone.

I was cleaning my system the other day when I noticed different sounds to the case work when touched.

All of the Naim components, when tapped, exhibit a dull sound. However, the NAC 282 has a metallic ring sound.

They are all sited on a SimRack, which is solid Oak with glass shelves.

Does this affect the SQ and is this something I have to live with?

Or, is there something that can be done to stop this?

I was thinking about putting some Sorbothane type material under the feet to see if this would help.

The cases are fine ringing. In fact they usually sound better that way than if deadened. A few recent threads on this here.
