I hear a subtle change that seems to be working well for my system. Only shows that any change made to a system is so personal and depending on many factors.
The point I was really trying to make is that some people hear a difference not because of anything other than there really is a difference. And some people donāt, even when there really is a difference. In the end, because we are relying on our ears, itās all subjective. Nobody is right or wrong. What may be a difference to me may not be in any way significant to you and so you donāt hear any difference. That to me personally is a far more likely explanation for differences of opinions than expectation bias. We all listen differently - thatās why some people love LS3/5aās and some people hate them! Both are equally right.

The M6 block has three Power Arays, connected, as I understand it, in parallel with the L,N and E rails. Chord describe it as passive noise reduction. No current flows through these to get to the sockets. But they do have a profound effect on the sound - indeed it would be pretty pointless if they didnāt. How far these can be classed as conditioners I really donāt know. They certainly do condtion the supply to the sockets as they very effectively (or so it appears) remove HF noise from it. But I know itās a different thing to situations where conditioning components are in series with the supply. How far Naim would consider the Chord blocks to be condtioners and whether they approve of them or think that they degrade the music would be nice to know.
Hi Mike, curious as to what your thinking is here? Iāve always thought of the UK grid, like most national infrastructure, as being dated and chronically under-maintained. Are you saying that the operators actively tackle these issues to maintain supply quality?
I assume these issues are tackled to the standards required for not causing any issues for general consumption. But that isnāt to the same standard as demanded by audiophiles, at least those that think that these things make a difference.

Chris, I understand the UK mains to be design and structurally sound.
I also understand UK power is well rated for EM, RF and other pollution issues compared to others around the world. (which what the post was discussing)
The UK domestic system is rated amongst the best for voltage and frequency stability.
But, as I understand, thats despite that UK has become short of Nation Grid capacity due to the speed of development of the many offshore wind generators, especially so on the east coast side.
UK power ranks in the global top 10 for reliability (annual power outage time) but not so high when ranked against EU only with Germany, Switzerland & others better.
There have been several Isotek threads. Did the OP do a search?
I was really just wondering if you meant that the grid operators were in some way actively controlling the issues you mention above. I assume most such interference comes from end users rather than the grid itself, but Iām not an electrical engineer.
Regarding Voltage, Iām currently in dispute with my DNO as ours never sits within permitted limits when the sun is shining, and they seem to be gaining a reputation for failing to admit, less still rectify such issues as widely dispersed solar and wind generation increases.
Separately, I read recently of a group of solar farms in Devon who have been told by their DNO that they will be disconnected until at least September due to the failure of a transformer that is part of their grid connection which couldnāt handle the Voltage in the lines.
Conversely there is a strip of good agricultural land in Kent where you can get permission to turn it into solar farms simply because there is spare capacity due to the interconnector cable that goes to France that makes connection easy.
Frankly it seems to me that the whole UK grid is in a state of disarray.

The grid operators donāt, but the local end of the chain has to cause any form of noise.
The interference does come from the end user, back-feeding noise directly on the house wiring and some local low range RF type noise, plus something from the nearby neighbourhood.
The non reversible 3 pin plugs might help if you believe reversing polarity on EU plugs is detrimental. Maybe the regulation E earth helps.
One of the major objectives of Isotek is to reduce line noise. If that is an issue for you, then their units are worthy of consideration. For some, line noise may not be an issue. For us, it was an Issue and moving to the V5 Sigma further reduced line noise compared to one of their previous and cheaper units. We went from an Aquarius to a Sigma. The increase in price was significant but worth it. The Sigms also offered more outlets which we needed.
I think my two Isotek V5 Polarisā do a very good job of filtering out noise on my mains as both my HiFi Systems are sounding excellent.
My house has a 6kW AirCon Unit, a large 7kW Solar Panel System on the roof, 2 pumps for the swimming pool, a very large wine fridge and two large fridge/freezers, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, so lots of electrically noisy equipment, but neither HiFi System is affected by this noisy equipment, so Im pretty sure the Isoteks are doing a very good job in filtering out the noise on the mains.
