Issue since updated Naim app

I use an HDD to play music through my Uniti Atom.

Since the app was updated it only reads approx 50% of the albums on the HDD and I can’t see the other half I.e. it sees all albums down to letter J but nothing after.

I could see them and play them before the update but not since.

I’ve checked them all on a laptop and have no issues.

Any ideas from anyone (nothing too technical please).

Thanks

Did you try to reset the app, in the app settings?

Yes, didn’t make a difference.

Tried deleting music pre and post the stop point just in case something was creating a blockage but again, no difference.

Thanks

I would do a hard “off” of everything, unplug, make a cup of tea, come back and re-plug and restart everything again.

Thanks Richard but done all that and no difference.

Don’t know how to work out if it’s a HDD error - works OK on laptop and all error scans suggest no issues.

Have you contacted Naim support yet?

Not yet - trying the “ nuclear” option at moment - deleted everything on HDD, reformatted and restoring from back up.

Don’t want to blame the app just yet.

Thanks

First, are you using the USB input to view the music files (which uses a folder view) or are you using the Server input > Local Music, which displays the same music by tags, which is usually preferable. Chances are that only one or the other of these views isn’t working.

Did you try a full factory reset after you updated the Atom firmware?

In the app, try App Settings > Reset App and System Settings > Rebuild Music Database.

Then restart everything and see if it’s visible.

Interesting - thank you. Will work my way through your suggestions.

@CrazyRiver had a similar problem, but it wasn’t the app.

Thanks Chris,

Your suggestions appear to be working.

Have also logged a message with Naim Support as something clearly changed and not sure what it was.

I still have to get to the bottom of why multi room keeps having dropouts, but where in the new app is the multi room option? The Naim app is currently showing both my NSC222 and a Qb2 but I can’t see any multi room option

It should be in the bottom R corner. Do you need to scroll down a bit to see it - as more devices with different screen sizes appear there do seem to be more and more issues like this.

There’s no scrolling on that page

I have exactly the same problem with my MuSo2 since i “upgraded” to the Radio version of the Naim app. I can get down to S on the list of artists on my SSD hard drive, but no further. I’ve done lots of resets, on/off etc., checked the SSD on my desktop, all to no avail. I have sent a report into Naim but no response yet. Frustrating. I have lots of artists starting with “The..” who aren’t playable as they are invisible on the app.

I’ve used the option recommended but ChrisSU earlier in this thread I.e. the server option on the app.

This seems to work but I’ve also contacted Naim to complain/find out what’s changed. No response yet.

I was happy with the SSD via the USB connect so don’t understand why it had to be changed.

When I click the server option on the app, it is blank. There is no option to select Local Music or anything. Frustrating.

Silly question - but have you re-booted the Agom.

I had to do it a couple of times but it also takes quite an age for the items on the SSD to load to the Atom i.e. any album covers, etc.

You need to be very patient although should see initial albums start to appear fairly quickly.

Thanks for the suggestion. Have rebooted the MuSo2 a few times and have waited for the drive to be read- played a couple of albums from the artists in the A to S range which should have given the thing time to get it act together. Just have to see what Naim come up with.

There’s no UPnP server running on the Muso, so you won’t get the Local Music option in the server input like you have in the Uniti products.
