Anybody else have huge UI issues on this forum using newly released iOS26 on iPhone? It’s almost impossible writing a reply.

This is how it looks like for me on the phone now. It came with iOS26. Things are all over the place when trying to write and the frame/box is gone. The line showing where you are is not where the text is etc.

Using the Discourse app solves the UI issues if anyone else have similar problems right now.

It hasn’t stopped you posting though, so it can’t be that bad.

Fine with the ipad. Just different look icons and Fonts.

I use bit of zoom too, maybe it’s that. Anyway, something messed up the UI on the reply box for me with iOS26 :squinting_face_with_tongue:

Reduces text size but it got even worse.. hmm. The iOS26 UI is horrible by the way.

I have problems when I set the font size and zoom settings to suit my Diabetic eyesight problems reducing these settings help could be better.

Just a small glitch and I’m sure it will be sorted soon…

From Discourse;

iOS26 has been officially released, but we recommend holding off on updating until some Safari issues are addressed. These are visual issues that cause fixed position elements on iPhones and iPads to be misplaced after opening the on-screen keyboard — in Discourse this includes the header, mobile footer, composer, and chat.

We’re keeping a close eye on this bug and are attempting to build some workarounds in the meantime, but solutions are fairly limited due to the nature of the problem being tied to how Safari calculates the window height (which websites have no direct control over).

These issues appear to impact all websites with fixed elements and inputs.

My 8 year old iPhone is too old to upgrade to this version, but I’m really looking forward to getting a new one on Friday or soon thereafter.

As a complete aside I really quite like the new iOS/iPadOS versioning in the sense of iOS 26 released for late 2025-2026 as it’s more grounded in time than nebulous version numbers.

I don’t use Discourse, but IOS 26 does seem to have screen formatting/control issues using the Naim forum through Safari…… particularly replies/editing replies and/or posts.

Same for me…

The Naim forum IS running on Discourse.

The issue is a bug in Safari 26 on iOS (iPadOS is fine) as described in the quote in @Richard.Dane’s post. It affects many sites. In the meantime, Apple has acknowledged and fixed it, and it seems to be making its way through the Apple release process, so hopefully will be fixed in 26.0.1 in a week or so (judging by the timing of a .0.1 release previously)

Referring to the `Diacourse app.

Unfortunately I have found some issues with iPadOS 26 as well as IOS 26….. similar cursor control/screen formatting. :frowning:

I see. The worst issue seems to occur when using the forum (running on the Discourse platform) in iOS Safari 26 and writing posts.

I tried the Discourse app as a workaround (which is also just a wrapper around the website and probably uses WebKit as the HTML renderer, like Safari), but there are some similar issues with fixed position elements like the bottom bar, though not quite as bad.

Yeah, I’ve seen slight misplacements on iPadOS, too, but nowhere as bad and not making it unusable. None on macOS though.

In any case, this will have to be fixed by Apple as it seems nigh impossible for websites to work around this Safari or WebKit bug, and as mentioned, they already know about it and have fixed it apparently for an upcoming update.

(Though it’s a mystery why it was not fixed for release, as the bug has been present since developer beta 1, as far as I’ve read)
