I think you have hit the nail on the head from my personal perspective. That ‘romantic’ sound just does it for me and I was immediately hooked
Thanks Richard. Streaming on Qobuz/Roon.

Saddened to read that Tony Coe has died.
Wonderful tenor and clarinet player.
Used to enjoy his playing with Humph,Jimmy Skid and Joe Temperly all those years ago.
I have all his Brian Lemon Yellow Zodiac cds.
A favourite
A good selection especially the Brian Lemons on Qobuz.
You brought a lot of pleasure to my life.

The vinyl reissue is due out about June. I have this preordered.
The Qobuz start page has nearly four hour selection from the Bethlehem catalogue.
In the day as popular as Riverside and BlueNote.
Main men appear at the start of their recording careers. Vocal heavy, but this was how labels made money to support the jazz content.
Covers often by Bert Goldblat with a nice selection at birkajazz.se/Bethlehem. But the NDX does show Minnie versions.
I find it especially enjoyable with a bottle of good Australian shiraz, proper bacon sarnies and a bag of crisps.
What more can life offer the ancient man.
Now on its 10th loop so I must like it.
On Qobuz.
Nice article about Rodney in WhiteHot magazine.
He certainly likes the listener to be aware of his presence.
Checking this out, as new on Qobuz. I somewhat liked several of Stenson‘s trio albums on the past.
As usual with ECM, excellent sound quality. Still not 100% sure about the music though.
Looking for some music to edge me into the day we chose this from Qobuz…
I never stray from my comfort zone. Filed by Q under Curtis Fuller’s name ( but their mistakes turn up some good music) I wondered how and if he was still performing…
A fine pick up of Denver unknowns (but certainly not untalented) recorded by Capri and marshalled by a somewhat older looking Curtis than those images on the Blue Train cd.
I am ready for what lies ahead.
A tribute to Chet by some of the finest British talent.
Kerr sings with warmth and clear articulation.
Chet is Richard (sometimes known as D*ck) Pierce. Gerry is covered by Derek Nash.
Steve Melling and Seb de Krom couldn’t be bettered.
We best mention Trudy’s old man Geof Gascoyne whose important bass part is beautifully recorded.
Georgie Fame pops in for a couple of tracks.
A handsome hour of music. On Qobuz.
Nice one from Dexter from 1965
Dexter Gordon (ts)
Kenny Drew (p)
Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen (b)
Alex Riel (d)
A nice couple of Georgie Fame tracks.
Easy to forget that George was a wonderful jazz singer.
I seem to be drifting into a jazz vocals phase.
On Qobuz.
This one brings back a lot of memories…
Streaming on Qobuz/Roon.
Enjoy
