I must have those tunes on many, many cds. But I never tire of them.
Having just joined the world of Streaming and digital downloads, I bought this enjoyable Album by David Preston in download format only.
A new name for me but Downes is a favourite musician.
Corea and Hiromi together? A new purchase coming up for certain.
Shot many years ago
The album is very interesting, it was recorded in 2008 if I’m not mistaken, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the concert!
There are some short videos on youtube as well if you are interested:
Could not resist this one. Phoenix Reimagined (Live) by Lakecia Benjamin. A lady with some attitude. It certainly did not send me to sleep.
.Now should I get the studio version as well?
My nomination for the best jazz album of this year……, can’t imagine a better one will be released in the upcoming months.
Guy Warren - The Blind Boy from Emergent Drums.
Part of the Lansdowne Series from '64 or '65 the drums come in after 30 seconds and just keep building I’d love to hear a first rate copy on my stereo rather than this YouTube video.
Alfa Mist - Decay from Recurring (2024)
From his latest LP recorded live at King’s Place, London earlier this year with the Amika Quartet well worth a listen.
Went to a concert yesterday with some of the same music - Raymond Scott and John Kirby - so played this.
Don Byron, Bug Music.
Listening to Miles Davis, Kind of Blue in preparation for watching Jay Phelps Band: Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue at The Stables, Wavendon, Milton Keynes on Tuesday, 19/11/24.
They still have some tickets and the prices aren’t too bad.
